What we collect

The minimum needed to run the product well:

• Account details you provide — for example your name and email address.
• Forecast and household data you enter in the product (bills, income, balances, account notes, and the categories you create).
• Basic technical information required to securely operate the product — for example authentication cookies, server logs, and any support messages you send us.

What we don't do

• We don't require linking your bank.
• We don't sell your personal data to data brokers.
• We don't use your forecast or household data to build advertising profiles.
• We don't share your data with third parties for their own marketing.

How we use information

We use your information to operate your account, generate your forecast, respond to support requests, meet legal obligations, and protect the security and integrity of the service.

Website measurement

On the production website (balancewhiz.com) we use Google Analytics to measure website traffic and product usage. That includes which pages are visited and whether someone clicked a signup link, an account was created, a trial started, required setup was finished, or a paid subscription started. The staging site is not measured.

Page views include the page path only. Query strings and hashes — such as invite links, password-reset links, and checkout identifiers — are not sent. A subscription event includes the plan (monthly or annual) and the public subscription price. The same payment is counted once without sending the Stripe invoice identifier. We do not send your name, email address, account identifiers, forecast balances, account details, or the amounts you enter for income and bills.

Security

BalanceWhiz uses HTTPS. Information sent between your browser and BalanceWhiz is encrypted while it is on its way. Your forecast information is stored in a managed database. BalanceWhiz uses infrastructure providers with security protections designed to safeguard stored information. We continue to review our data protection and recovery practices as BalanceWhiz grows. No system is perfect — if we ever experience an incident that affects your data, we'll tell you about it.

Retention

We keep your information as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to support dispute resolution and legal requirements.

Your controls

You can:

• Update your account details or change your password from inside the product.
• Cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation stops the next renewal. Paid access continues through the end of the current billing period.

You can contact us to request a copy of your personal information or ask us to delete your account and associated data. We'll review and respond to requests in accordance with applicable law, including any information we're required to retain.
